Sensory Access Foundation Dinner in the Dark

Every 7 minutes, someone in the United States becomes blind or visually impaired. During Sensory Access Foundation's Dinner in the Dark, every 7 minutes the lights are gradually dimmed until there is very little light left in the room. (Due to fire regulations, the room will not be completely dark.) By progressively dimming the lights, diners experience a simulated, gradual loss of vision, similar to how most people who are blind or visually impaired experience vision loss. Glasses simulating different visual impairements are available as well as sleep shades for those who want to experience total loss of sight.

Following a delicious buffet dinner, diners are entertained by not one but two very funny comedians. There will also be a raffle with exciting items.

The evening is a unique sensory experience, providing attendees with a rare glimpse into the world of people who are blind or visually impaired while they enjoy great food, laughter, and "insightful vision".
